RACHEL HARRISON GORDON is an award-winning writer-director whose first short film BROKEN BIRD, a semiautobiographical story about a Black girl’s Bat Mitzvah invitation to her father, celebrated its World Premiere at the Berlinale International Film Festival 2020 and was awarded Best Directorial Debut by the Heartland Indy Shorts Film Festival.
Rachel hopes to create films, commercials and music videos that challenge expectations of race, motherhood and addiction. This short BUDDY BOY was one of five projects selected for the 2025 Tribeca Chanel Women's Filmmaker Program.
Rachel earned her MFA/MBA from NYU Tisch/Stern. She is a Sundance 2020 Blackhouse Fellow. Prior to filmmaking, she served as a Presidential Innovation Fellow for the Obama Administration focusing on Veterans' experience returning home and worked as a data analyst at The New York Times. Rachel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she studied Mechanical Engineering. Rachel also works in the political space, serving as communications director for local campaigns in Philadelphia, where she lives.
EMILY KRON is a writer, director and producer of film, television and audio. Through her collective, Grandma’s Beach House Productions, she creates distinctive, female-centric narratives in the darkly comedic terrain, bending tone and genre. With collaborator Kate Hopkins, she released the 10-episode Audible podcast Very Unbecoming, starring Amy Sedaris, Zoë Chao and Esther Povitsky. Her short Deceased Ones premiered at Tribeca Festival’s TV Pilot Season and is in series development. She also produced The Ultimate, which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival, and If I’m Alive Next Week, which debuted at the Tribeca Festival, alongside numerous other projects.
